Doors and windows are portals to the outside world. They are a picture frame for a continually changing painting of sunrises, sunsets, trees with squirrels and blue jays, young children learning to walk and hundreds of other scenes. If they are well designed and pleasing to the eye, you will want to look out at the world.
Windows and doors give definition and style to the houses, stores and offices that I pass when I am out walking. They add character to a neighborhood. At night with the lights glowing from within they emit visions of refuge from a storm and an aura of mystery.
